After weeks of teasers and speculation, Quavo and Lana Del Rey have finally unveiled their highly anticipated new song, “Tough.” The release is accompanied by a music video, co-directed by the musicians and Wyatt Spain Winfrey. The video captures the duo slow dancing together, strumming guitars on a cozy cottage porch, and reveling in the lush, rural landscape. Watch the enchanting “Tough” video below.

“Tough” is co-produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut and brings a nostalgic feel, reminiscent of the hip-hop-influenced sound of Del Rey’s debut album, Born to Die. This marks Del Rey’s first collaboration with a rapper since her 2017 album Lust for Life, which featured tracks with the Weeknd (“Lust for Life”), A$AP Rocky (“Groupie Love”), and Playboi Carti (“Summer Bummer”). Although her 2023 song “Peppers” included a sample of Tommy Genesis’ “Angelina,” it didn’t feature original contributions from the Canadian rapper.

Del Rey released her latest album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, last year and has hinted at a new country album, Lasso, expected in September.

Quavo, on the other hand, has been busy since the release of his second solo studio album, Rocket Power, in August 2023. He has continued to drop a series of singles, including “Mink,” “Clear the Smoke,” and “Himothy.”
