Kendrick Lamar is back in the spotlight with the release of his music video for “Not Like Us,” the latest chapter in his ongoing feud with Drake. Following the success of his No. 1 diss track, Lamar dropped the highly anticipated visual on July 4, co-directed with Dave Free. The video opens with a brief freestyle before showcasing Lamar celebrating in his hometown of Compton. Joined by producer DJ Mustard and hundreds of fans, Lamar hits iconic spots like city hall and Tam’s Burgers.

Adding a personal touch, Lamar’s fiancé, Whitney Alford, and their two children make appearances, sharing in the festive atmosphere. The video also features several nods to Drake’s OVO label, with prominent owl imagery throughout.Kendrick lamar

In one scene, Lamar takes a swing at a piñata while a humorous disclaimer reads, “No OVHoes were harmed during the making of this video.” The video concludes with a striking image of an owl in a cage, symbolizing Lamar’s dominance in the feud.

Lamar filmed the video in late June, shortly after his electrifying performance at the Juneteenth “Pop Out” concert, where he performed “Not Like Us” six times. According to the Los Angeles Times, the video shoot drew a crowd of notable fans, including Steve Lacy, YG, Thundercat, Roddy Ricch, and NBA star DeMar DeRozan, who is mentioned in the song.

As the music world eagerly awaits Drake’s next move, Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video stands as a bold statement in their ongoing rivalry.
