Ray J’s Troubling BET Awards Incident Raises Concerns Over His Well-Being

The 2024 BET Awards, typically a night of celebration and glamour, took a darker turn for one artist. Ray J found himself at the center of a physical altercation and subsequently raised alarms about his mental health in a series of concerning social media posts.

The incident unfolded outside GloRilla’s awards afterparty, where Ray J was seen on video engaging in a physical dispute with Lemuel Plummer, the founder of Zeus Network. The footage captures pushing and shoving, with Ray J allegedly throwing a punch that missed its mark. After briefly retreating to a car, Ray J returned to confront Plummer again, only to be restrained by his team and eventually leaving the scene.

Following the incident, Ray J took to his Instagram Story to express his frustrations and describe the events. “Then it all went bad! First at #BET and then later on too! I’m really at a breakin point!” he wrote. He elaborated on his feelings of disillusionment, stating, “To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore!”Ray J

Ray J continued, shedding light on his experience at the BET Awards. He recounted a confusing and hurtful encounter backstage, where he was inexplicably denied re-entry. “The s—- that happened tonight to me at the awards today was hurtful. I’m working backstage and then I go take a break in the back and BET wouldn’t let me back in for some reason. I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see – it was weird.”

His post took a more alarming turn as he mentioned experiencing suicidal thoughts and hinted at a secret he’s been paid to keep quiet about. “I’m on my way out of the country. The s–t that is happening is mind blowing – it’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality!” Ray J revealed. “THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! – I FEEL BAD AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON’T WANT ANYMORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!”

He concluded his message with an apology to his sister, Brandy, stating, “I’m sorry and I will make it right.”
