Singer and songwriter SZA has cemented her place in music history, becoming only the fourth Black female artist to gross over $100 million from a single tour. Her ‘SOS Tour’ achieved this milestone, amassing an impressive $113,119,055 and selling 807,700 tickets, according to figures cited by Touring Data. SZA now joins the illustrious company of Beyoncé, Tina Turner, and Rihanna, who have previously accomplished this feat.

The ‘SOS Tour’ marks SZA’s second concert tour and her first in arena venues, following the immense success of her sophomore album, ‘SOS’. The album dominated the Billboard 200 chart, holding the top position for 10 consecutive weeks. This tour further solidified SZA’s influence and popularity in the music industry.

SZA’s achievements in the industry began to take shape with her debut album, “Ctrl,” released in 2017. The 14-track project garnered critical acclaim and featured collaborations with prominent artists like Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Travis Scott. Hits such as “Love Galore” featuring Scott, “The Weekend,” and “Good Days,” released in 2020, showcased her unique style and lyrical prowess.SZA

The award, presented to gifted young songwriters making a significant impact in the music industry, highlighted her exceptional contributions to the field. She became the second Black woman to receive this honor, following Alicia Keys who was honored in 2005.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey, SZA’s journey from her debut to becoming a record-breaking artist is a testament to her talent and perseverance.
