Today, on October 13, Offset makes a resounding return with his highly-anticipated sophomore album “Set It Off,” marking his first solo LP in four years.
The 21-track project is a star-studded spectacle, as the Migos MC brings in an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Cardi B, Future, Travis Scott, Latto, Don Toliver, and more, in a deeply personal offering. To warm up his fans, Set released two singles, “Jealousy” featuring Cardi and “Fan.” His debut solo effort, “Father of 4,” gave birth to the multi-platinum hit “Clout.”

Since his last solo release, Offset faced the tragic loss of TakeOff, who was shot and killed in Houston last year.

In an interview with Apple Music, the “Clout” rapper reflected on the impact of TakeOff on his journey. He said, “Even on my own journey, I still feel his presence and his energy like, bro, ‘We got to go hard. We got to win. We got to win. This ain’t the end of it. We got to win.’ So that’s another thing that pushed me through is my boy, Take, man. He didn’t care that he didn’t care about the numbers, nothing. He like, ‘Bro, y’all’s s–t hard.’ He’s just very supportive in that. I just keep that in the back of my mind and just keep pushing.”

Offset also spoke about TakeOff’s personality and the qualities that made him a source of positivity. “Take had that… he just had good character. He just was like, ‘I make music with people that love my music and I love everybody.’ He’s a loving person, man. It was just a tragedy my boy had to go like that, man. But I’m pushing for him too. Legacy, the group thing is it can’t be a group because our main member is missing.”
“Set It Off” promises to be a compelling chapter in Offset’s solo career, and fans can now stream the album to experience the evolution of his artistry and the remarkable collaborations that adorn this musical journey.
