Jada Pinkett Smith, renowned actress and producer, recently shared her deep connection with the late Tupac Shakur, whom she believes was her “soulmate.” In an interview with RollingOut while promoting her upcoming memoir, Jada got candid about her relationship with the legendary rapper, even as she revealed her separation from husband Will Smith after 19 years of marriage.
Jada explained that she and Tupac, the iconic rapper behind “Hit Em Up,” shared a profound friendship and love. However, she emphasized that there was no romantic chemistry between them. She described their bond as a powerful connection that transcended the physical realm, suggesting that they may have shared past lifetimes.

When questioned about Tupac referring to her as a “soulmate” and whether such a connection was possible without romance, Jada responded, “Absolutely, we have soulmates, our children can be our soulmates. I think this kind of romanticized idea of like a soulmate – there’s all kinds of definitions of soulmates.”

Jada went on to speculate about the possibility of having traveled with Tupac in past lives, indicating that their connection extended beyond their current existence. She shared that what fans may have perceived as chemistry between them in videos from the past was, in fact, a “friendship chemistry” and a “love chemistry,” but not a romantic one.

In a previous interview with Howard Stern, Jada mentioned that she and Tupac had shared a kiss at one point but ultimately decided to remain friends. She acknowledged that their feelings were intense, yet there was no physical chemistry between them.
Tupac Shakur, who was tragically gunned down at the age of 25 in Las Vegas on September 16, 1996, left an indelible mark on the world of hip-hop and beyond. Jada’s revelation about their profound connection sheds new light on her relationship with the rap legend and the enduring impact of their friendship.
