As the year draws to a close, anticipation surges in the entertainment industry as the nominees for this year’s Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) Honours People’s Choice Awards have been officially announced. The winners are set to be revealed on December 22 in a celebration of Nigeria’s top performers in the entertainment realm.

Organized by the ID Africa-owned Netng news organization and established in 2013, these awards recognize excellence in the entertainment space, with a unique focus on engagement from internet users across platforms such as websites, social media, and email newsletters of Netng and its affiliates, including Neusroom, 234Star, and Orin.

This year’s awards will feature 24 categories, with 18 open for public voting. Leading the nominations are renowned musicians including Rema, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage, each receiving two nods.

Iretomiwa Akintunde-Johnson, ID Africa’s regional manager for West Africa, expressed, “As the African entertainment industry continues to grow significantly, Nigeria maintains its position as a leader in global achievements. African music, movies, and fashion are expanding their frontiers, breaking boundaries, and our entertainers are pioneering new paths.”
