Afrobeats superstar Davido has crowned his fourth studio album, Timeless, as his best work to date. During a recent interview, the Grammy-nominated artist reflected on his musical journey and shared insights into what inspires his style, both in fashion and music.
Speaking on his love for urban fashion, Davido explained his laid-back approach to clothing, often opting for comfortable outfits like T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers. However, he noted that his style evolves with the occasion. “They say I like to dress like a rapper because I love urban fashion,” he said. “I love wearing T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers to look comfortable. You will find me in a suit when it’s time to collect money. Sometimes, I also wear Agbada.”
When asked to reflect on his musical catalog, Davido gave special recognition to Timeless, calling it his best album yet. Released on March 31, 2023, Timeless not only captivated fans worldwide but also broke records across streaming platforms in Nigeria, including Spotify, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube. Its success further cemented Davido’s place as a leader in the global Afrobeats movement.

Timeless received critical acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Global Album. Additionally, standout tracks like “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys and “Feel” gained Grammy nods for Best African Song Performance and Best Global Song Performance, respectively.
Despite the album’s overwhelming success, Davido hinted that his next project will surpass even Timeless. He first teased this idea earlier in the year during an appearance with popular American content creator Kai Cenat. Now, as he prepares for his next release, fans are buzzing with excitement, especially with news of his upcoming collaboration with Jamaican star YG Marley.
With Davido’s track record of blending catchy melodies with deep cultural roots, his forthcoming album is poised to build on his impressive legacy and bring even more groundbreaking music to his global audience.
