Ghanaian Afrobeats artist Kelvyn Brown, better known as Kelvyn Boy, has opened up about his ongoing attempts to mend his fractured relationship with his former mentor, Stonebwoy. According to Kelvyn Boy, his efforts to reconcile with the dancehall star have gone unreciprocated for the past five years.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty on September 26, 2024, Kelvyn Boy expressed his frustration over the lack of resolution. “I’ve been trying to make peace with Stonebwoy for five years now, but to no avail,” he revealed during the conversation.

The two musicians were once close collaborators, with Kelvyn Boy signed under Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group. However, their relationship took a downward turn in 2019 when Stonebwoy severed ties with Kelvyn Boy, and since then, their attempts at reconciliation have been unsuccessful.

Kelvyn Boy admitted that the fallout has lasted so long that he struggles to remember what triggered the rift. Despite this, he holds out hope for a resolution. “It’s not the first thing I think about when I wake up, but when it comes to my issue with Stonebwoy, I hope we can resolve it,” he stated.

However, despite Kelvyn Boy’s continuous efforts, it appears Stonebwoy is not ready to patch things up just yet. “Any time we’ve tried, I don’t think he’s ready. But me, I dey,” he remarked, indicating his willingness to resolve the issue whenever Stonebwoy is prepared to do the same.

Their relationship, once a strong artist-mentor bond, has been strained since 2019, with fans and industry insiders hoping for a reconciliation. Only time will tell if the two artists can finally put their differences behind them.
