Young Thug is officially back on the scene and making major moves. Following his first post-prison single, “Money On Money” featuring Future, it looks like fans won’t have to wait long for an entire new project. His upcoming album, UY SCUTI, is on the horizon — and Mariah The Scientist may have just given us a major clue about when it’s dropping.
Since reuniting after his release, Young Thug and Mariah have been seen enjoying some quality time together, even hitting up a few NBA games. It was during one of these public outings that Thugger first hinted at the UY SCUTI album. Now, thanks to a comment from Mariah on Instagram — spotted by Kurrco on Twitter — we have what seems to be a tentative release date.
According to Mariah’s comment, UY SCUTI is expected to land on Friday, May 9, which notably marks three years since Young Thug’s arrest in the YSL RICO case. That detail alone makes the date feel symbolic. However, it’s worth noting that Mariah also mentioned she’s trying to convince him to change the date, so nothing seems completely locked in yet.
Billboards had previously teased a May release, but until now, no official day had been pinned down. Whether the date shifts or not, fans are just excited that a new album is imminent.
As for what to expect from UY SCUTI, early reports suggest appearances from Future (of course), Mariah The Scientist herself, and possibly Ken Carson from Opium Records. The full tracklist hasn’t been revealed yet, but the buzz is already building.
Regardless of whether it drops exactly on May 9 or sometime later in the month, it’s clear that Thugger’s return to music is hitting a special chord. After spending so much time away from the studio — and after everything he’s been through — fans are rooting for him to come back stronger than ever.
Stay tuned: whether it’s May 9 or a little sooner or later, UY SCUTI is coming.
