Jeffrey Osborne Announces Debut South African Tour in 2024

Renowned R&B singer Jeffrey Osborne is set to enchant South African audiences with his inaugural tour in March 2024. The “You Should Be Mine Tour” kicks off at Cape Town’s Grand Arena on March 20, followed by Pietermaritzburg Athletic Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal on March 24, and concludes at Pretoria’s SunBet Arena on March 28.

Osborne, initially the drummer for the funk and soul group L.T.D., transitioned to lead vocalist before embarking on a solo career. His chart-topping hits, including “You Should Be Mine,” “Don’t You Get So Mad,” and “Stay With Me Tonight,” showcase his musical prowess. Collaborating with Dionne Warwick on “Love Power,” Osborne has earned five gold and platinum albums and received four Grammy nominations.

Expressing his excitement about the tour, Osborne stated, “I am so excited to be coming to South Africa for the first time. It has always been my wish to visit this country which has such a beautiful history.”

In addition to Osborne, R&B enthusiasts can anticipate another spectacular performance by Joe Thomas in April. Thomas will grace the stage at Sun City Superbowl in the North West and the Grand Arena and GrandWest in Cape Town. Vertex Events’ executive director, Thato Segaole, expressed pride in bringing Joe back to the country, aiming to create a uniquely curated live music experience. Production quality and the gathering of R&B enthusiasts will be a primary focus, Segaole added.
