Rap icons Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are reuniting in a major way with their new album, Missionary, set to drop on December 13. This album marks the duo’s first full collaboration in nearly 30 years, and they introduced it with a humorous teaser that has fans buzzing.
In the newly released trailer, two Mormon missionaries knock on a door only to be startled when a woman answers, then promptly flees, dropping her book in the process. Over the scene, a snippet from one of Dr. Dre’s fresh beats plays, offering a glimpse into the upcoming project and creating excitement among longtime followers.
The duo’s collaboration dates back to 1992, when they created memorable tracks like “Deep Cover” and followed it up with legendary hits such as “Nuthin’ But a G Thang” and “Dre Day.” Dr. Dre famously produced Snoop’s debut album Doggystyle, which has since become a hip-hop classic. With Missionary, Dre and Snoop intend to pay homage to that groundbreaking era while offering something new.

In an interview, Dre reflected on the album’s significance, saying, “After 30 years, believe it or not, man, this is our first time working on an album in 30 years. I did Doggystyle for him 30 years ago. We’ve done things in between—a song here and there, did shows and everything—but this is the first time we got together and worked on an entire album. I feel like it’s some of the best music I’ve ever made, and I’m really proud of it.”
He also highlighted Snoop’s evolved style on Missionary, noting a “certain level of maturity” in Snoop’s sound, which he believes will resonate with fans both old and new. The upcoming album will be Snoop’s twentieth, following his 2022 release BODR and his recent acquisition of Death Row Records, the iconic label where his career began.
As Missionary gears up for release, fans are eager to see what the two hip-hop legends have crafted in their return to the studio together.
