Among the standout finalists this year is South African Afrobeats sensation Tyla, who has received an impressive eight nominations, marking a pivotal moment for the genre. Tyla’s chart-topping tracks “Water,” “Truth or Dare,” and “Jump” are all contenders for Top Afrobeats Song, a category that underscores the genre’s rising impact on the global music scene. Additionally, her self-titled album Tyla earned a nomination for Top R&B Album, reflecting her versatility and crossover appeal.

Other Black nominees this year include SZA, up for Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top R&B Artist, alongside Brent Faiyaz, Tommy Richman, and The Weeknd.
In the Top Hot 100 Songwriter category, Kendrick Lamar joins a competitive field that includes Taylor Swift and Zach Bryan, while Lamar is also a finalist for Top Streaming Songs Artist.
