After a five-year break between solo studio projects, Ty Dolla $ign is back. On October 17, 2025, he dropped Tycoon, his long-awaited fifth studio album, and unveiled the video for the single “Don’t Kill the Party” featuring Quavo. The rollout underscores his evolution as an artist and the high stakes he’s placing on this new era.

A New Chapter:  Tycoon Arrives

Tycoon marks Ty Dolla $ign’s return to solo artistry after several years of collaborations, joint projects, and experimenting behind the scenes. According to press statements, the title reflects his mindset: gaining confidence, expanded influence, and creative sovereignty within the music business.

The album features a stacked list of collaborators, including Quavo, Kodak Black, Travis Scott, YG, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, and more. Its fifteen tracks blend Ty’s signature blend of sultry R&B, confessional lyrics, and crossover appeal. Lead singles such as “All In”, “Smile Body Pretty Face”, and “Show Me Love” paved the way for its release.

Critics and industry watchers see Tycoon as a renewed statement—not just musically but commercially. Ty is also pushing his label work (via his imprint EZMNY) as part of this phase, indicating that he’s building beyond just records.

“Don’t Kill the Party” Video: Party Turned Cinematic

On the same day as the album launch, Ty dropped the official music video for “Don’t Kill the Party”, starring Quavo. The video, directed by Joseph Desrosiers, matches the track’s energy — vibrant visuals, nightlife aesthetics, and glamorous set pieces.

In the song, Ty Dolla $ign leans into party motifs—pulling from late nights, flirtatious energy, and layered production by BNYX. Its refrain (“Don’t kill the party, please… I’m up, so pardon me”) sets the tone. Quavo’s feature adds swagger, seamlessly weaving into the sonic and visual palette.

The video’s premiere at midnight EST was teased heavily, with Ty posting hints and visuals in the days leading up.
