SZA has made it clear that she wasn’t impressed with Shannon Sharpe’s line of questioning during his recent interview with singer Coco Jones on Club Shay Shay. The R&B star slammed the sports commentator after he brought up her past comments about Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) while speaking with Jones.
During the conversation, Sharpe veered off-topic and referenced SZA’s previous statement about regretting her own BBL. He asked Jones, “Recently, SZA came out and said she regretted getting a BBL. Have you talked to anyone that regrets it, like, ‘Whatever you do, don’t do this?’”
Jones, known for her graceful approach to interviews, responded tactfully. She simply said, “Um, no,” before adding, “The girls that I talk to, they be like, ‘Girl, do this.’”
While the ICU singer remained composed, SZA did not hold back. In a now-deleted comment, she criticized Sharpe’s question, calling it “incredibly tacky.” She also expressed disappointment that the conversation had been redirected in a way that focused on her personal choices rather than the broader topic.
SZA’s reaction has since sparked discussions online, with fans debating whether Sharpe’s question was out of place. While some argue that it was a fair topic considering SZA’s past openness about her experience, others believe it was unnecessary to bring up in an interview that had nothing to do with her.
Despite the controversy, Sharpe has yet to respond to SZA’s remarks. However, the moment has once again highlighted the delicate nature of conversations around body image, personal choices, and how they’re framed in the media.
