Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been hit with two additional felony charges in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme. Federal authorities announced on Friday that Durk, born Durk Derrick Banks, faces charges of conspiracy and using interstate facilities in an assassination attempt targeting Quando Rondo’s cousin.
The charges were outlined in a superseding indictment by a federal grand jury. According to court documents, prosecutors allege that Durk played a leading role in orchestrating the plot, positioning him as the “kingpin” of the operation. The new charges are linked to the August 2022 shooting outside a gas station near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles, where Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was killed.

Prosecutors claim that Durk financed the trip to California for members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew, arranging for them to stay in a hotel before they allegedly tracked Quando Rondo’s vehicle and carried out the attack. Authorities suggest the motive behind the shooting stems from the 2020 killing of OTF rapper King Von, who died in Atlanta after a confrontation involving members of Quando Rondo’s group.
Durk, who has been in custody since October, and his five co-defendants are awaiting arraignment in federal court in Los Angeles, with proceedings expected to begin in the coming weeks. The charges mark a significant escalation in a case that has already drawn widespread attention due to Durk’s prominence in the rap industry and his close connection to King Von.
