Sean Combs, popularly known as P Diddy, is grappling with the fallout from sexual-abuse lawsuits as 18 companies withdraw from his newly launched e-commerce platform, Empower Global.
The exodus follows allegations of sexual assault and physical violence made by R&B singer Cassie Ventura and three other women against the producer and entrepreneur.
Several brands, including House of Takura, Nuudii System, No One Clothiers, and Tsuri, have officially terminated their association with Empower Global. Annette Njau of House of Takura expressed the company’s commitment to supporting victims and their rights, emphasizing their stance against intolerable behavior.
Lenard Grier from No One Clothiers highlighted the conflict between the allegations and the brand’s values, leading to their moral imperative to end the relationship.
Luxury skin-care brand Tsuri, led by Ashli Goudelock, unequivocally seeks to terminate its association, emphasizing a commitment to not lingering in a gray area about the mistreatment of women.

High-end jewelry purveyor Fulaba, another featured brand, backed the decision to leave the platform, aligning with its values of empowering women and girls.
Some departing brands have already been removed from the Empower Global site, marking a rapid decline for the platform since Combs’ enthusiastic launch in July.
Combs, who invested over $20 million into the venture, expressed excitement about Empower Global, positioning it as a pivotal moment for inclusion and empowerment within the Black community.
Despite the exodus, some brands cite their belief in the initial vision of Empower Global’s former CEO, Khadijah Robinson, as a reason for staying. Robinson, a Spelman College and Harvard Law alumna, joined Combs Enterprises in 2021 when Combs acquired her company, the Nile List, an e-commerce directory for Black businesses.
The controversy surrounding Combs raises questions about the platform’s future and its ability to recover from this setback.
