Nigerian pop sensation Ayra Starr has reunited with global Afrobeats star Wizkid for a fresh, sultry banger titled “Gimme Dat”, officially released on Thursday, April 24. The track marks the duo’s second collaboration, and fans are already calling it an instant favorite.

Ayra first teased the tropical-infused jam last week with a dreamy Instagram clip of her swaying to the beat against a glowing sunset. As the track faded into Wizkid’s unmistakable “God da–,” she simply captioned the post with the same line—sending fans into a frenzy of anticipation.

Now that the full track is out, it’s clear “Gimme Dat” was worth the wait. Produced by VybeO and Mikabeatz, the single samples the iconic 2000 hit “911” by Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige—a nod to early-2000s R&B that adds a nostalgic touch to the song’s vibrant Afrobeats rhythm.

This isn’t Ayra and Wizkid’s first musical chemistry test, and they passed with flying colors before. Their first link-up, “2 Sugar,” appeared on Wizkid’s 2022 album More Love, Less Ego, and earned a nod in the best Afrobeats category at the 2023 MTV VMAs—the first time the award was ever given. That same year, Ayra’s breakout hit “Rush” also received a nomination in the same category.

Both stars have continued to shine on global stages. Ayra Starr, still riding the wave of her Grammy-nominated “Rush,”recently dropped her sophomore album The Year I Turned 21 last May, which hit No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart. “Gimme Dat” now follows her February single “All The Love” as her second release of 2025.

For Wizkid, this track marks his first new music since releasing Morayo in November 2024—his sixth studio album, also peaking at No. 4 on the World Albums chart.

Together, Ayra Starr and Wizkid are a dynamic force in Afrobeats. Their latest offering, “Gimme Dat,” blends sultry melodies with vibrant grooves, and is poised to dominate playlists and dancefloors across the globe.

Stream “Gimme Dat” now on all platforms—and don’t be surprised if you catch yourself singing along before the first listen ends.
