In a strongly worded response, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has denied recent reports alleging that he consumed homemade alcohol while serving time at Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey. According to his team, the claims are false and stem from exaggerated rumors rather than verified facts.
Allegations and Response
Reports surfaced via media outlets, including TMZ, claiming that Combs had been caught drinking a fermented mixture made from Fanta soda, sugar, and apples—an improvised alcoholic beverage allegedly brewed within the prison. Sources said prison officials considered moving him to another unit as a result of the incident.
In response to the reports, Combs’ spokesperson stated: “There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs. He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self‑discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.” Their public message further read: “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
Context of His Incarceration
Combs, 56, is serving a 50‑month sentence after being convicted in October for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was transferred to FCI Fort Dix around late October following an earlier detention in Brooklyn. The transfer reportedly aimed to provide better access to rehabilitation and family visitation programs.
Before these allegations, Combs had publicly declared that he was sober for the first time in 25 years, writing in a pre‑sentencing letter: “The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you — I choose to live.”
