Diddy Requests to Serve Four-Year Prison Sentence at Fort Dix

Sean “Diddy” Combs is asking to serve his four-year prison sentence at a low-security federal facility — and his legal team believes it’s the best place for him to rehabilitate and stay safe.

According to a letter submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian by Diddy’s attorney, Teny Geragos, the hip-hop mogul is requesting a transfer to Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. The letter urges the court to recommend the facility to the Bureau of Prisons, citing its environment and resources as ideal for the 54-year-old’s situation.

Geragos noted that Fort Dix would help Diddy “address his drug abuse issues” while also allowing him to “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.” The request also comes amid growing concerns for Diddy’s safety. His legal team previously claimed that there had been threats against him — including an alleged plan to stab him in jail.

Why Fort Dix?

Fort Dix is known for housing white-collar and non-violent offenders in a less restrictive environment compared to other federal prisons. The facility also has a history of hosting high-profile inmates — including Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice, who both served time there.

Diddy’s lawyers argue that the facility would not only provide a safer setting but also a structured path toward personal recovery and rehabilitation.

What Happens Next

Judge Subramanian may issue a recommendation, but the Bureau of Prisons ultimately decides where Diddy will serve his sentence. For now, the Bad Boy Records founder remains at MDC Brooklyn, where he’s been held for over a year.

As one of the most polarizing figures in hip-hop continues to navigate his legal battle, all eyes remain on whether the Bureau will grant his request — and whether Fort Dix becomes the latest chapter in Diddy’s ongoing saga.
