Sean Kingston, the 35-year-old singer best known for his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls,” has been released from federal custody after posting a $100,000 bond, following a brief incarceration stemming from his recent fraud conviction.

Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty in late March 2025 on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud. The convictions are related to a scheme involving over $1 million in fraudulent acquisitions of luxury goods, including high-end jewelry, a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade, and a massive television system .

Initially placed under house arrest pending sentencing, Kingston was ordered back into custody on April 10 after failing to meet the bond requirements, which included a $100,000 cash payment and a surety bond secured by a $500,000 property and $200,000 in cash .

On April 15, his attorney, Zeljka Bozanic, confirmed that the bond had been posted and Kingston was in the process of being released .

Turner, 62, was deemed a flight risk and remains in federal custody. Both are scheduled for sentencing on July 11, 2025, and face up to 20 years in prison for each count .

The convictions stem from fraudulent activities dating back to October 2023, where Kingston and Turner used false documents and payment transfers to acquire high-end items without payment .

As the sentencing date approaches, both Kingston and Turner maintain their innocence and plan to appeal the verdicts.
